FAQs
What is OSB board?
OSB (Oriented Strand Board) is an engineered wood panel made from compressed wood strands bonded with resin. It is widely used in construction for flooring, wall sheathing, and roofing.
Can OSB be used outside?
OSB can be used outdoors only if it is specifically rated for exterior use and properly sealed. Without protection, prolonged exposure to moisture can cause swelling and deterioration.
Can OSB board get wet?
OSB board can tolerate limited moisture, but repeated or prolonged wetting can lead to swelling and loss of structural integrity. Proper sealing is recommended in moisture-prone areas.
Can you paint OSB?
Yes, OSB can be painted after applying a suitable primer and sealer. This helps reduce texture visibility and protects the board from moisture and wear.
What is OSB raw?
Oriented Strand Board raw generally known as OSB is engineered wood made up of compressed layers of unfinished wood strands. The wood strands are arranged cross-directionally and bonded with moisture resistant adhesives and pressed with heat and pressure to give it strength and durability.
